How do i open the gas door to put gas in?

on the pathfinders you have to press the unlock button and the drivers door has to be unlocked. then you press on the left side of the door and it should come open on the right. i dont know if it is the same with xterras but doesnt hurt to try

there is no handle inside the vehicle. to open it, press on the left side of the gas door, it'll swing open by the hinge.
make sure that the gas cap 'clicks' a couple times after you finish filling up, otherwise the check engine light will come on

There should be a lever or a button near the driver's seat. If you can't find it check the owner's manual, if there is one.
