Medications offer temporary relief, and my doctor says there isn't much that can be done.

A good physical therapist and/or chiropractor can help you with adjustments and giving you exercises. I wouldn't believe your traditional doctor about this particular problem. When I started having back pain at age 19, a doctor told me that "millions of Americans suffer from back pain. Let me write you a prescription. There's nothing you can do about it."

That was such crap.

I've also suffered from sciatica as a result of a herniated disk. The sciatica comes on a little bit every now and then, but it's usually when I haven't been keeping up with my exercises. For me, it's almost a blessing because it reminds me to take better care of myself.

Good luck.

I also have sciatica. I don't believe that there's a cure, (I would have found it already) but, there are exercises that I do to strengthen my muscles. I learned these in physical therapy and I see a chiropractor. He's awesome.

go see a chiroprator. There are many things that can be done.
Medications will only relieve the symptoms, if at all, and never addresses the real cause.
