Stir the fudge constantly to keep it from burning. When you lift up the spoon, look at the condition of the liquid dripping off the spoon. Does it look like it is trying to get a little denser when it hits the air? Drip a drop into a bowl of very cold water. (don't forget to keep stirring) Use your finger to check the drop an see if you can gather it into a ball and lift it out. If you can, it's ready. If the fudge tries to spin a string when you lift the spoon, you've cooked it to long and will proabably be hard candy.
I'm impatient and usually dissolve candy in the water several times trying to reach the correct consistency.

Soft Ball Stage means that the fudge is at 240 Degrees or when you put a drop into a glass of cold water it will form a soft ball. If you cook the fudge to long it will harden in the pan before you can pour it out. I f you cook the fudge to little it will not get thick enough and be a gooey mess.

soft ball stage is when the mix reaches 240 degrees F, or 115 degrees C. If you don't have a candy thermometer keep a bowl of ice water nearby and dropp a little in, when it forms a soft ball it is ready. It is much safer to buy and use an actul candy thermometer though.

The way you as an individual analyses things and the way you see the world could potentially not be the way the world sees you. Things get lost in interpretations and we bring upon ourselve bad fate. The things you say about yourself have a major impact. The self that is you maybe over inflated in the eyes of the same self but in the eyes of the broader society it could be something else. Get a candy thermometer at any store. There's a line that says soft ball and hard crack. heat and stir until it gets to that line. That's what I do and I like to KISS (keep it simple stupid) ha ha.

It means keep stirring until its firm enough that when you take some out it will be pliable enough to be rolled into a ball. Be careful not to burn it. My husband is the fudge maker not me. LOL
