It means you have an increase in bacteria and oil forming from your pores and you need to make sure to keep your back washed. Chances are you are going to get zits on your face too and your period is probably not far behind because you are obviously hitting puberty. Try the Cetaphil soap...

This is a normal puberty thing. It does not necessarily mean your period will be starting immediately--I got zits on my back about a year before mine started.
Try Neutrogena Acne-Free body wash. It helps, trust me!

If you are high school age. Sounds to me as if it is just part of puberty! I had it on my face, chest and back. My doc put me on birth control pills (of all things) to help with the hormones, etc. It did help, but I had to go to a dermatologist later in life for stronger things...just remember...."keep your hands off, don't pick them!" :)

Don't sweat it. Yes, you could be about to start a period. Don't start using expensive products to try and stop it. Normal hygiene practices are sufficient. Using certain soaps and cleaners could make it worse.

Just try a bodywash like Aveeno or Nuetrogena. Use it with a back scrubber. That should help.
