I'm worried about my weight. I am 5'9, with a medium build and I weigh `147 llbs. There's not an ounce of fat on me and I wear a size 6. My body looks good but the weight on the scale seems really high, despite the fact that I work out and eat sensibly. Is this weight considered obese?

no your weight is fine!

im 5'6" and weigh 145. because im on a high school sports team every season, my doctor said i should gain weight.

the obesity factor has a lot to do with height- at my height, the chart says i sould be pushing 150, especially beacuse of the whole sports thing. the other thing with obesity is your BMI. im mostly lean muscle, which is why the doc says i should put on some body fat.

you say you work out often. did you know muscle weighs more than fat? that's why you're 147.

if you're all that worried about weight, see your doctor. he'll tell you that you're fine

No, I'm a 30 year old woman who works out regularly and am a hard body. I'm 5'9" and weight 155. If a horse weighs 2000 lbs, that doesn't mean it's fat, it's all muscle. Do you look flabby or just thick? Thickness could mean muscle which is firmness.

You're definitely not obese! You are very height/weight proportionate. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so if the number seems high it just means that working out is really paying off.

you weigh that high because of your muscles. muscle is heavier than fat. it's okay that you weigh 147 and its not considered obese. your weight is fine. good for you that you work out and eat healthy. a lot of people should be like you.
