It could be something in your refrigerator but the smell moved up to your freezer. Either that or something in your freezer got unthawed and went bad.

If the power went out, and something spoiled - it may have leaked liquid into the freezer in crevices, etc... that didn't get properly cleaned... Even frozen - it will smell bad.

Just take everything out - give it a good (quick!) wipe-up with clorox clean-ups or the like and then put everything back along with a new, open box of baking soda. Should solve the problem.

Do the same in your fridge just to be on the safe side - since they share aeration.

It's called freezer burn, It occurs when frozen food is left in to long. Try cleaning the freezer out,and defrosting it. When that's finished try putting baking soda in the freezer to help with the odor.

YOu could put a box of Baking Soda in the freezer, it might help with the smell

you be surprised at what goes on in your freezer. Just get some baking soda and you will be great....
