my dog did the same thing when i first got her. your dog is just scared right now, but he'll come around eventually. he won't starve his self. give it a couple of days, and if he still won't eat u might want to change the food or go to a vet.

I agree with the others, first take him to the vet to make sure he is not sick or he does not have parasites.

If the vet gives him the all-clear then give him only dog food. Experts say that dogs should get the same kind and amount of food at the same time everyday. Some dogs can be very smart and manipulative. Some dogs will hold out for people food instead of eating dog food. Many people, my wife for one, will feel sorry for the hungry dog and give him people food. Do not let the dog train you into giving him people food.

I am serious. No people food, ever.

If you can find it anywhere in your city Our dog loved it until we couldn't find it anywhere its called "Chicken soup for the soul" Dog food. And no its not just a book its really dog food too. It was the one thing that our dog would eat. The other thing you might try is to put Chicken broth on top of the food. That is the other thing that get's our dog to eat the dry dog food.

I think its pretty normal for animals to feel uneasy in a new home If it has been more than two days take the dog to the vet there may be more wrong with him try first calling a vet to see what they recommend good luck .

Take him/her to the vet. if you already tried that, ask a close friend or relitive.like you said, it eats snacks,so try giving it a snack it really likes.it might start eating that. slowly change the food once in a while too so it dosent get caught up on one food.

If you really care about the dogs health you should take him to the Vet as soon as possible. There could be a number of reasons and only a Vet is qualified to give you that answer.

It sounds like you need to take him to the vet. There could be a variety of issues, anything from parasites to something more serious. Have you checked the poo for worms? Are you sure he is not eating? Is it possible he is eating and you just dont see him?

he doesn't like the food you are giving him. How many things have you tried? If he was a street kid he won't like anything fancy, just keep working with him to find out what he likes. Has he lost a lot of weight? Has he had all of his shots and has he been wormed? There are too many variables here and not enough information.
