I would again ask: Why not do as Mexico does? They call illegals there felons & give them two yr. prison terms. They have military & high tech on their side of the line. If US catorgizing illegal imm. as a Fed. misdomeanor is racist, Mexico's catargory of FELON makes them what? Genicidal? It at least makes Mexico more racist than us if we define pro-illegal poster's definition of racism both ways. Mexican laws are more strictly enforced & they put their illegals in prison. Mexican Gov. would never tolorate the marches ect. like we have, where those who have no citizan rights demand them. Do that in Mexico & any survivors would be jailed.

To answer your first question, only a few illegal aliens come here to make a better life for themselves. The other ones know how easy it is to get across the border, steal, sell drugs, and get money from this country. Then they go back home and live the high life. Most Mexicans hate U.S. citizens. They think we're pitiful for letting them get away with it.
I would still disapprove of illegal immigration even if they weren't using social services. The fact that people need to realize is that they've broken the law to be here. It isn't fair to U.S. citizens, or the people trying to be U.S. citizens.
It might actually change my feelings if they really wanted to be here and learned English. But the fact is, the number of Mexicans that really want to learn English and really want to be a citizen would do it legally.

I sure hope it would help....but it does not. Even though so many people come to this country to make better for themselves there is always going to be those bad apples that are going to ruin it for everyone else. I, as an immigrant, can honestly say that I do not abuse the system, I get no benefit from the system. And I am a citizen now, and I still get no help from the system, and it has so much to do with those who have ruined it for the others.
But I have to admit that people have no idea what it is like to live in a third world country, where there is no making things better. As I read many of the comments that are left though, I am not only amazed I am quite shocked at some people's reactions. It is quite sad that this is the best education system, yet ignorance seeps from the pores of this country. Here people can work at McDonalds, with no education whatsoever and still make rent. In a third world country that does not exist. There are no jobs. Unless you own a cow that you can sell, or your wife can cook and sell foods, it is quite hard to even make enough money to eat. Here legal or not legal, you can mow lawns, clean rich peoples homes, sell food from the back of your car, and still you can make rent. In our countries that privelege does not exist.
So how dare you say people do come here to struggle. We come to this country not always because we want to, but because we have children to raise and mouths to feed.
And those jobs that the illegals do, no yuppy american will EVER bend over to pick up someone elses trash the way the do, just to put some food in their mouths!

No, because they really do need to come legally. There are people out there that are working hard right now and want to be a part of this country. I really do wish the best for them. But, the economic principles behind no amnesty stay the same irregardless. No nation can handle an endless stream of any kind of migration, which is why it must be regulated. Or, we will turn into the countries so many have fled. Also, what if they have contagious diseases. They may be well intentioned people, but they can carry diseases which can infect dozens at a time, starting immediately from the time they get here.

I'm definite there are the ones which might be racist and towards any immigration; nonetheless, I'm satisfied that the majority legislation abiding residents count on adherence to the legislation of our land through the visitor staff, resident extraterrestrial beings, and immigrants irregardless of what nation of beginning they hail from. That is fair and simply. The handiest change I can determine from the La Raza Unida and the KKK, or BGF, is colour. Inconsistent enforcement of the legislation mostly outcome in resentment for all worried. Preferential remedy and/or amnesty, or something they make a decision to name it'll handiest extra ethnic tensions amongst authorized and unlawful immigrants from Mexico, as good as, from 2d iteration, European-Americans, and African-Americans, and so on., who witness the immigration legislation enforcement failure.

Honesty in itself is a countermeasure to illegal activity. Laws depend on people obeying them, and obeying laws is ultimately an internal commitment. So, illegals would be a moot point if honesty were a worldwide concept. 'Illegal but honest' is an oxymoron.
Personally, I consider even planning to visit a country with no intention of learning key language phrases a crime, meaning an embarrassment and inconvenience. Ours as native speakers should not be the burden of accommodating, but of insisting upon English skills. Teddy Roosevelt was right.

I don't accept that you or anyone else can tell someone they can't move to America freely. Most of the world is suffering extreme poverty, so economic migration is a must to get some of these people out of poverty.
I'm an engineer, so my profession is so regulated, I can't go to the U.S. illegally, but if I was say a construction worker, I would not hesitate to go illegally because I think the U.S. immigration system is bulltweat. I'm already indistinguishable from the average American, so why should I respect some line in the sand on the 49th parallel and being told to be a good boy and not cross it even if I can make more money.
However, I have never met an immigrant who did not want to learn English. I met a few Quebecers who did not want to, but that's another issue.

Well,I understand that some illegals want to come here and make a life for themselves, maybe we have the same issue? What is wrong with our government? I am anti illegals for the simple fact they are draining our recouces, they are not showing Americans that they have a reson to be here,I can show you links, but Im sure you have already seen them?If Mexicans want Americans to respect them and be glad they are part of our country, first they have to get rid of the LaRaza bs,and quit living on our government, then I Americans might respect them, till then it just aint gonna happen.

The problem is the schools, as well as crime and food stamp type abuse ( I consider having kids here to access social services to be abuse). If you count schools in social services, yes. Otherwise, no. They don't carry their weight in taxes, given what they require in services like education. Even if they paid taxes they wouldn't pay enough, because they are poor and we subsidize our poor and those legally here. I have a hard enough time trying to figure out how to handle college for my kids and retirement for myself (a seemingly unsolveable riddle) without having my children's upward mobility ruined allong with their schools.
Besides, who wants more of the kind of people who think laws don't count if they would keep the person in question from doing what they want to do?

No, it would not change.
Why? Because EVERYONE wants a better life. There is nothing different. If they truly want a better life, and they want to make a change, they need to start with their own country. See, there are more "citizens" of Mexico than there are government officials, soldiers, and cops - COMBINED! They could fight for things to change in their own country. It didn't just happen for us overnight - a lot of people fought and died for what we now have in this country. They are going to have some hard times, and there will be blood shed, but they CAN make a difference - and a change - in their country. Then they wouldn't have to illegally enter a country, risking their lives - and the lives of their families - for this "better life".
Until they decide that things in their country need to change, and they need to make them change, then things won't.

If someone broke into your home to steal your things to make money to feed their family, would knowing the resoning behind it make you feel any better about the act itself?
It's the whole act of coming here ILLEGALLY that the nation is enraged. With all the problems we have with terrorists, you'd think that shutting down the Mexican road to our back doors would be a top priority, and not worrying about pissing off people who have broken our laws to get here?
