I have an old family Bible published in 1825 by Daniel D. Smith of New York. I was wondering if anybody knew any information on this publisher or the worth of a Bible of this type. I am not really interested in selling it; just curious. It is in pretty good condition and contains many interesting family articles such as notes and hair clippings. Thanks

Acrophycal Books of the bible does not refer to antique copies of the bible, it refers to books such as Tobit Judith, Esther, and Macabees I and II that appear in some versions of the bible but not in others, or books such as the Gospel of Thomas that were well known and were recently rediscovered, but didn't make it past the council of Nicea into the official canon.

What you have is an antique bible, and it may well be valuable. Perhaps you'd have better results asking about it on a forum devoted to antique books, historical artifacts, or geneology.

What does that have to do with apocrypha?
