Why is it such a crime for God to actually relieve some of the undeserved suffering for innocent people. It's becoming difficult to believe in a loving,all-powerful God when such atrocities are allowed on good people.I hope this isn't blasphemy but enough is enough.

I myself don't believe in God. Look at all the suffering children in a childrens hospital. People say its God's plan. I don't think its God's plan because it says in the Bible Free Will remember ? People pray and pray but I agree. God is nothing but bullshit.

Dear Friend, I don't know what your suffering is, but it must be something that is overwhelming you. God has allow mankind to live without His constant intervention because for the most part mankind has ignored God. We seem to only ask for help when we are in great need. Even our asking is not in humility but with rage or pouting as a child. The day will come when God will intervene and for some that will be a great day for others maybe not so great. We have two choices to make: 1: we can believe that God doesn't care and harden our hearts and block Him out of our lives or 2: believe in His goodness towards us and receive His comfort. Look for God in the way comfort comes to you, through circumstances or from other people. God loves you and wants to help, His help comes in gentle ways not always in ways that shake your world. Many times in my life when going through a tough time it has only been after the fact that I see the hand of God. God Bless, during your day look for those little ways of God and soon you will see how He does indeed aid us. God knows you are hurting and He does care. Ask Him into your life if you have not and tonight as you lay on your bed pray that He gives you a good night's sleep.

It seems to me that there are several possible answers. The first one if you believe in reincarnation is Karma, these poor and "undeserving" people probably did bad deeds in the past. This would seem to be an answer that most people would be able to accept the easiest as it would put the least amount of blame on them, they can keep their hands clean by saying well they probably did bad things in their past life. The second option is that there must be an equal balance of things in the world, a world out of balance is an imperfect world, for there to be joy there must also be suffering that is how we identify joy, this can be applied to people and to humanity as a whole, if you think of the human species as one giant organism, part of "us" must know suffering so the rest can know joy. Then the last option is that there is no real god (i find this unlikely, if there is no higher power or some sort of afterlife whats the point of living?) and that this suffering is an occurence caused by chance and/or the probabilities of the world. Hope that helps you out.

Not blasphemy - just a question which has been around for at least 2400 years. The book of Job in the OT has attempted to interpret it.
My take? My wife likes the toaster theory of life: bread in - toast out. No choice. No hassle.
Me - free will is a pain that is superb in recognizing the dignity of humankind. The Bible says we are all children of God. If that is the case, then in being like God, we are free. Our freedom leads us to incredible joys and follies.
I can hardly bear the pain of others at times. Then I remember, we have free will and over us is a loving God. This is not the only round and every tear shall indeed be wiped away.

No, your question is not blasphemy, it's a very good question that many people ask. May I suggest a Bible Study Course offered by the United Church of God? It consists of twelve lessons and one of those lessons is entitled "Why Does God Allow Suffering?".
There are other booklets and articles that you can ask for on the same subject, or if you would like to simply download them, feel free. All free, no obligation. And no one will call on you unless you would like them to.
I hope this helps to answer your question.

What makes you think God hasnt relieved any suffering? God just doesnt come down from the heavens with lightening bolts in each hand and smite Evil right before our eyes. He is all loving and all powerful and he does step in to help the suffering.

This is how he handles .... lets say...World Hunger. He has given each of us present here the ability to help our brothers and sisters that are starving. Granted I'm not rich but I have the means to give to charities. I sponsor a family in India right now. I also give to the Salvation Army and the Red Cross.

Are you doing everything in your power to help curb world suffering? God works through both you and I to correct the world's wrongs.

You don't understand why God does what He does. He loves us all more than we could ever love anyone. I can't explain why people suffer in this short answer but He is always working in our lives calling us through our suffering, waiting for us to call on Him for help. He wants to save people from there problems and afflictions. If a person believes in Him and asks Him to, He will always work your problems for good in your life. I'm glad God has allowed me to go through hard times. I've learned some things I could've never learned any other way and I am a better person for it. Don't think God would ever wrong anyone. That breaks my heart.

God doesn't punish the way we think he does. He allows things to happen and we in turn need to turn it into something good and possibly help others out with what we have learned from our experiences. He doesn't give us things that we can not handle. If you are experiencing difficulty in your life, you need to find someone to talk to, maybe a pastor or a councelor or even a friend (a positive one!). You will look back years from now (if you are optimistic) and realize what God has done for you and how it has made you a stronger person. God Bless you!!! :)

Is there one completely good and pure person out there? No. For all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. God has more than one side. He is a loving, and all-powerful but He is also all-knowing. He knows what He is doing. Don't judge His actions when you have no idea of His plan

Hmmm....since everyone else seems to be boring me with their answers on this, I'll give you a real one.

God...well...he has to let us learn doesn't he? If everything were always good for you, you wouldn't know how to work, or face things. Life is like a test, in my theory. Were put here, and watched by God to see where we get to spend eternity. If we face the tests on this Earth with wisdom and strength, then we can spend eternity in Heaven.

They say that when God gives suffering to the innocent people, He is testing them and wants to judge the qualily and quantity of their goodness and innocence and their faith in Him. Some even say that those people would have been the sinners in their previous lives and God is punishing them..... :-)
