And peace be unto you.
Yes there are differences and many of them seem silly in retrospect. On the other hand, they reflect what the Bible says of our freedom in Christ. It is a cherished ability of each person to explore (what you are doing) and grow. God has anointed each of our lives with a wonderous mixture of gifts from the Holy Spirit. We are different and there wordings and ideas can appear to be different. Yet if you know your life belongs to God, then the key idea has passed down through 3000+ years without getting messed up.
The trouble with "something to study" - and there are many superb books to study - is they barely stand the test of a single season. They represent so many ideas/interpretations/hopes that they come and go. Get hold of some good, long standing, history proven works. Try Augustine's Confessions or City of God. Check out Bede for Christianity in England 1000 years ago. Luther's commentary on Romans and the one on Galatians are classics, Spurgeon on the Psalms - magnificent.
And peace be with you.

I've left christianity for those reasons my friend, that its all smoke and mirrors with them. My mom being a very pious catholic sends me to church regardless of what i actually believe and nothing i can do can convince her that the wine is wine and not the blood of a 2000 year old man. What did i do? I studied for religions that touched me deeply and i found one. What i did was become a muslim and they teach that Jesus (pbuh) was not the son of god but he was one of gods most beloved prophets who we hold in the highest regard, because after all, how can god die?he is everlasting and cannot perish. You do have a right to question things anyone teaches about anything for that matter and hold an opinion so sacred to you that no one can deny you that right. For more information on Islam http://www.islam101.com/ Just take everything you do one step at a time and i hope you find inner peace. May Allah be with you my friend.

All you need is a King James Version Bible and a Strong's Concordance. You can find the true meaning of any scripture with these 2 tools. Only use the Strong's.

Quaker Worship or a unitarian church might work wonderfully for you. More and more, people who believe in God strongly and believe in the teachings of Jesus but don't necessarily believe he was the son of God turn to open, inclusive settings like these. If you shun a church setting or directed worship than the Quaker (Friends) Way might work well for you. Also, the founders of Cadbury and Rowntree were both Quakers!!

The original Bible is infallible; Jesus tells us that. It was inspired by the Holy Spirt i.e. God. If you REALLY doubt the translations that you read and 'hunger and thirst after righteousness' go learn to read Hebrew and Greek. No problems if you do that. No doubt at all if you do that. God bless.
