I am 14, 5' 9" i weigh 153 lbs. I am a middle distance runner for my school track team ( I usually run about 30 minutes a day). HOW MANY CALORIES SHOULD I BE EATING TO LOSE ABOUT TWO POUNDS IN AROUND 2 OR 3 WEEKS??? I Have about 2/3 in. of baby fat left and i want to get rid of it And do not put any 1200 calorie diets on here cause only an idiot would eat only 1200 calories.

Do you know anything about eaitng 5 small meals daily? Any benfits?

See look at the comments below.

I have one person saying to eat 1800 calories and then another saying 2400 calories and then some idiot bragging about how he can eat what ever he wants.

I need an accurate calorie amount plz. I do not know which to pick 1800 or 2400?

You need at least 2400 calories a day. Maybe more with your activity. Go to the link and fill in the information on right. The next page give your calorie needs and the amount of the different foods you need for these calories.

at 14 you should have some baby fat, you are ONLY 14!!!!

- you also didn't state if you are m or f

I wouldn't worry about counting calories so much as your food selections and your meal timing. a performance athlete that is in season shouldn't be reducing calories.

Meal #1 - protein/carbs
Meal #2 - snack
Meal #3 - protein/carbs
Meal #4- protein/fats
Meal #5- protein/fats

* as the day progresses your carb intake should decrease. breakfast should be the high carb meal. a good combination of complex carbs and some fruit is a great combo

* at night switch your meals to protein/fats. the body doesn't need carbohydrates at night when activity level is at it's lowest. when the body is at rest the primary energy source is free fatty acids

* if you really want to drop some body fat add in some HIIT cardio 2-3x a week.

Yes eating five times a day really works at least it has for me.I used to weigh 300 lbs and now i weigh 270lbs.And the weird thing is i eat more now then i did before. My doctor put me 1800 cal a day and then i can eat all the fruit and veggies i want. But always start the day off with breakfast and then a snack then lunch and then a snack and then dinner and then a snack before bed i like to eat fruit before bed.And the rest of the day what ever i want to snack on i like veggies and i love fresh pineapple.

you need at least 1800 calories a day to maintain weight if you want to lose weight. Eat the 1800 calories and exercise more or eat less that 1800 and keep the same exercise routine.

1200 is actually enough, but you can lose having 1500 in 6 small meals a day (nothing to eat after 7pm).
