Is there such thing as evil? Or is it just the absence of good? What do you think.

There is a such thing as evil. For example, if you think an act is evil, then it is. Get enough people to think that it is evil and then its universal, such as killing
However if we got the majority of the world thinking that killing isnt evil, then it wouldnt be.

Evil is relative, there is such thing and it is defined by current societies and courntries.

Yes, I think there is such a thing as evil. It's father is Satan, its beginnings on earth came through Satan, Adam, and Eve. There is such a thing as the absence as good, but this and evil are not equal. The absence of good is nothing. Evil is something.

Evil, in the sense of an absolute spiritual evil with intelligence, is a concept out of dualistic theology -- it spilled over from some preexisting religions into Christianity as the new faith formed. The Church then took the Jewish Satan (who in Judaism is JUST VIEWED AS DOING HIS JOB) and turned him into the new boogeyman into whom they poured all the attributes and appearances of the pagan deity du jour that they were overthrowing, unless they were absorbing the pagan deity into the Church via some other method. So they either demonized or absorbed their enemies -- and, boom, its like instant coffee crystals, just mix with water and you have a new faith. And here we are.

As for actual evil? No, I don't believe it exists. Men do harm to one another, and that is evil -- it is neither an absolute, nor a force.

I think evil is real. What is the "absence of good" if not "evil", or a synonym thereof? How would one even know the definition of "goodness" if there were no opposite to it? Would "goodness" be "good" or would it just be "normal"? Would it mean anything at all unless there was an opposite, "evil" to compare it to? Hmmm..........

Evil, no.
Evil is illusion. Bad things are done by people who are sick. But I don't believe in a devil or satan who is behind us making us do work for him. Definately not. In the spirit world it is only good. Therefore evil is man made. We can live in heaven or in hell, but it ends on earth. There is no hell fire waiting for people when they die to punish them for their sins. Consequences follow actions, so if you do something that you know is bad, then evil will follow in the form of guilt, regret etc. I would call that karma!
