I am going to join the Army, and I am thinking about becoming a Motor Transport Operator. Does anyone have any experience doing this, if so. Please tell me how it was.

For the guy below the question, I also thought about being a dental specialist. I picked those jobs because it wouldn't be hard to find a civilian career after the army. Hopefully doing this army job would lead to a career as a dental hygienist.

If you choose to do that (it basically is a truck driver) you just need to get all the certifications you can to go with it. After your initial schooling you should be trying to get:
Ammunition carrier certified
Fuel carrier certified
HazMat certified
Wrecker operator (if you get the chance)

Things like that will make your resume' nearly bullet proof when combined with 4 years of experience. Also there are still a few states (Florida used to be one) that you can take your military license down the the DMV and get a State Commercial truck driver's license without having to pay for the truck driver training and taking the exam.

Honestly my husband drove a Bradly for his first 6 months in and hated every minute of it, he came home every night telling me how much it sucked, now he is dismount and absolutley loves it. The Army needs drivers though: )
