I want to try shrooms at the Pink Floyd laser show next month, but i'm a little worried, I've heard that you could have a bad trip if the area is full of people, so I don't know. Also, how long does the trip last? And what exactly happens, I hear that colors seem more vivid but what else happens? I am not looking to make this a habit, I really only want to try it once (no, i'm NOT a druggie so don't be rude please) and I figured a light show would be pretty awesome. Any suggestions?

Anna A's got the right idea regarding how you should take them.

Don't listen to girlonline64, you won't die from taking shrooms.

My tuppence worth:

The trip will last up to about six hours, it will peak after about one and a half/two, stay that way for an hour or so then taper off. From ingestion to starting to feel the effects for me can be anywhere between 5 minutes to 40 minutes.

Chances are with the amount you'll take, colours will become more vivid, your ability to communicate properly will take a bit of a nosedive, and if you look at things for long periods of time they appear to be breathing/pulsing in and out.

Whatever you do, don't take some, then say "Oh, I'm not feeling any effect, I better take more". That's a big mistake - it's best just to wait.

Overall, the decision to take or not take lays entirely in your hands. If in doubt, don't.

I've done shrooms twice. Both times were with close friends and in a very relaxed setting. I didn't get much from them, they weren't very strong, but I became elated, and started laughing at everything. I had some mild hallucinations while on shrooms too; things in my peripheral vision seemed to move a lot.

I never really "tripped out" on shrooms, but as with any drug, you can develop paranoia quite easily. A shroom trip causes confusion quite easily, so if you aren't prepared for it, you might have a "bad trip". I've had countless friends freak out at the bar because they were confused and wanted a quiet place to calm down. A rock show may not be the best place for your first time - you may want to try a low dose at home a few days before, just so you know what to expect.

It's been many years for me since I tripped but I preferred to be with close friends in a relaxed predictable setting to trip. Especially for your first time I would suggest this since you don't know exactly how you will react to the shrooms. I also found that the taste of the shrooms were absolutely terrible and made me feel quite nauseous for half an hour after I drank them.

Psylocin (the active drug in shrooms) can enhance insecurities. If you feel safe with people you trust, you shouldn't have an issue. Just remember to take a low dose until you know how you will react. People freak out because they take a high dose and it is too much for their psyches. It can enhance a Pink Floyd light show, but just be careful. If you start to feel uncomfortable, get home. Start with 1/4 to 1/2 what people tell you to take. If you are feeling ok in 45 min, you can up it, but I suggest keep it low to start.

When in doubt, leave it out. If you're anxious about having a bad trip, you're much more likely to have a bad trip.

If you have no experience, and you insist upon trying it, you will want to try them in a relaxed, controlled setting, with a good friend.

Ultimately, I'd recommend obstaining completely. People have been known to have adverse reactions; the effects may last for a long time. A friend of mine developed psychosis after too many acid trips.

Just eat a few stems & caps. Do not drink alcohol at all or eat much food beforehand, your tummy will get upset. The trip will last 5 or 6 hours depending on how many shrooms you eat. You will feel vary silly inside, and likely laugh a lot. And remember.....you will come down...don't freak out...relax.

Be careful....it depends on the quality of the shrooms and the amount you take...I'd suggest to be with people you are totally comfortable with so if something happens and sometimes it does they can help you out...

You could die, especially if you never tried them before. You don't know what your body will do or how you will react. Stay on the safe side and enjoy the light show the way it is supposed to be enjoyed.
