You are making the common mistake of confusing "Christian theology" with what's in the Bible. It's like blaming the mechanic's handbook--or manufacturer's handbook for a particular car, instead of the mechanic when he messes up a repair job by not following the handbooks. The Bible teaches TRUE Christians to love their enemies and pray for those persecuting them (Matthew 5: 43, 44), but what do most churches teach? They give lipservice to such scriptures--if at all, but only as long as it's convenient! Then, as the saying goes, the gloves come off! (During the Second World War many churches acted as recruiting centers, and churches on both sides of the conflict said "God is on our side!") Most religions teach the the soul is separate from the physical person, and departs elswhere after death. The Bible says Adam "BECAME a living soul" (emphasis added); it says animals are souls (Numbers 31: 28); the soul--you, yourself--can die (Ezekiel 18: 4).
So, what you need to do is study the Bible--away from church doctrine--to get to the unadulterated truth. It's like, if you wanted to be able to recognize counterfeit money, would you study ALL counterfeit money in existence; or study the real government money, and then compare it to the counterfeit monies when you came across them? However, be warned, you, like everyone else, are imperfect. (You may not prefer that word, but whatever you want to call it you're NOT perfect.) So it's easy to put your own interpretation of what's written. Find someone, or an organization, that concentrates on the Bible, not theology, church doctrine, etc.

how does , "I am about to renounce my belief in God. the christian theology is so messed up" make sense- God is God.
Unfortunately his followers dont always represent Him well, they have a choice and they dont always do what is right. Instead of criticizing and turning your back on God, read the word for yourself and you follow and make right choices- be an example, teach the truth, etc. Don't blame God for people's fallible nature .

When bank employees are taught how to distinguish the "genuine article," or real currency, from fraudulent, counterfeit currency, they are taught, not every possible fraudulent practice at a counterfeiter's disposal, but everything there is to know about genuine currency. Then, when counterfeit money comes across their desks, they are equipped to notice anything that differs from what they know to be genuine.

Likewise, if your question is sincere, it is important that, instead of asking people from a pool of varying religious beliefs (whose answers would be expected to be different from each other given the fact that there are thousands of different religions all claiming to be "Christian," not to mention thousands of other religions on top of that), you need to study the "genuine article," or the Bible itself.

If you do have even a scrap of belief left, you need to trust that God is capable of helping you to find the truth and helping to clear the confusion that the Devil uses to keep people blinded. Go to him in prayer and humbly ask him to help you identify the truth.

An Ethiopian eunuch who was a Jewish proselyte in the first century was approached by the disciple Philip while he was reading a passage from the Bible book of Isaiah. Philip asked the man if he knew what he was reading. The man replied by saying, 'how could I ever do so unless someone guided me?' (Acts chapter 8). This is a principle that shows, among other passages in the scriptures that support it, that it is important to be guided by God's earthly channel. It does still exist on earth today, even if Satan is working diligently to distract people from it either secularly or religiously.

Along that line of thought, there is a book I personally read recently and am reading again because I was so impressed with it. It does that very thing. It's entitled What Does the Bible REALLY Teach? Instead of using man's reasoning on various Bible topics, it uses the Bible itself to interpret itself. Because the scriptures were all written under inspiration from God, they are in agreement and are essentially all written by one author. I'm sure you'll find satisfying answers to the questions that trouble you, even if your question is not sincere and you don't believe in the Bible at all.

That is a new one. Christians going in circles ?? Confused and ignorant ? If you can see all that you mention, then why don't you stick around and try to help. In your own way, put all things back the way you feel they should be. If your a true Christian, you would work to bring things back to the way you feel it should be. Don't give up. Work to help the troubled ones. No religion is perfect. We all have our times of trial and all of us need to stick together. The grass is not greener on the other side. Why take it out on God, because some religions have cracks in the sidewalks ? You need to remains strong and ask God to help straighten out your religion. I will pray for you. And Merry Christmas !

I'm sorry to hear both statements.
There are few theologies that have lasted 2000 years and touched every continent. So I am not sure the theology is messed up. We can make a hash of teaching it, but what I've found is consistent.
I am Mensa qualified and hold an earned doctorate, from that perspective I can also tell you it is far less messed up than the FDA, paleoarcheology, and astronomy - to name a few.
Hang in there and make sure you ask the questions.

I feel for Ya! To many people base their beliefs on emotion and fail to pursue an open minded study of the Bible They follow traditions and what’s popular. The truth is sometimes hard to except a good example is Christmas A Pagan Holiday celebrated by Christians I wonder doesn't’t it seem like Jesus would have given us the date of his birth and told us how to celebrate it, if he wanted it celebrated? He told us how to celebrate his death and what date, but they even change that date to the date of a pagan celebration and incorporate pagan customs and traditions. THE TRUTH IS OUT THEIR but it’s not popular!

Not all people who call themselves Christian are Christian. I am very frustrated with many people who call themselves Christian, but Christianity isn't about the people who claim to be Christian. It is about Christ. Have you tried to read the Bible yourself? Don't give up on Christ because some of his followers are a few fries short of a happy meal.

That is why we must study to show ourselves approved. Rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:14-16 (in Context) 2 Timothy 2 (Whole Chapter)
