This guy I've passed in the halls several times. At first he'd look down when he passed me. That made me feel really bad because I thought he thought I was ugly and didn't want to look at me. And he's a really good looking guy. But now everytime I see him he raises his eyebrows and says hello but never really has a smile on his face. Does he just feel obligated and would do this with anyone who passed by. And does the raised eyebrows just mean hello?

first, let me clear this one.. i don't think guys'll look down if u're ugly..i don't do that..neither do my friends..we'd act normally.. we usually look down when we're too timid to catch the eyes of a girl we like or anyone pretty.. cuz it's kinda unnerving when our eyes meet with the girl's..
umm, for the possibilities:
1. he's realized that he sees u in the hall so often, so he might as well make u an acquaintance.. cuz i do that too sometimes... a simple gesture of acknowledgement won't hurt.. the thing about it is that he might not dare to smile cuz he's afraid u might not return it n he'll feel dumb.. u might think he's nuts.. i feel that too..im scared that if i smile at strangers, she'll think im crazy..so yeah...
2. he MIGHT like you...but again, if u're total strangers, not getting a return smile might feel like a rejection..so he might just do what he does right now.. u see, we're as afraid as u are to start a contact with a stranger...
so yes, i think the eyebrows mean hello...and unless u manage to open up a conversation with him someway, it'll be tough to know wat's on his mind...

He feels obligated to say hello when you looked at him. Raising an eyebrow could mean he's suspicious of you. Next time, just walk pass without looking at him. If he says hello, it means he still wants to be your friend. If he ignores you, it means he's glad you stopped looking at him. Either ways, you shouldn't feel ugly or lousy about yourself. There's always other people who think you are special to them.

Well, a guy doesn't look down when a girl is ugly. He looks to the side. He looks down when he's nervous. More likely, he found you really attractive and didn't want to appear to be gawking. Hence the not smiling...He's just not sure. But, all in all, if that's the extent of your interactions, it's not something to trouble yourself over unless you're the sort of girl to start pushing.

I say hi to everyone, it means nothing really. he could just be a friendly guy. Guys are attracted to confident women though so smile back at him :)
