I read and hear so many mixed reviews on the subject. Some say it is crucial to exfoliate at least twice a week to slough off dull, dead skin on the face, while others say it is torture for the skin. So which is it?
I have normal/dry skin by the way.

it is crucial to gently exfoliate at least once a week. don't be harsh, using a washcloth is considered exfoliation.

whatever you do don't use a crappy scrub from the drugstore. the scrubbies under a microscope look like shards of glass. spend money on either a gentle enzyme exfoliation if you don't want a scrub.

Yeah, don't scrub your face. The skin there is pretty delicate. There are plenty of very gentle exfoliants on the market, and I honestly wouldn't use one more than once a week.
Things like crushed nut shells or seed husks are way to rough. There are cleansers with tiny exfoliating beads and stuff like that - that'd be my choice.

If you exfoliate with a scrub, do so only TWICE A WEEK no more because you can harm the ph of the skin and therefore irritaated and "torture" it. HORRIBLE!!!! but do it if your clenaser doesn't contain AHA, if it does...then u dont need to

It relies upon on what style of pores and skin you are able to desire to start with. in case you have somewhat great pores, it is going to no longer undertaking you in case you employ it sparsely, in case you have small pores, your pores and skin is regularly drier and gets annoyed, whilst utilising scrubs and such. in case you have smaller pores, a finer grained scrub is ideal. If it has greater your pores and skin, basically save doing what you're doing and remember approximately to bathe, scrub, tone and moisture. yet only scrub a pair of times each and every week. What you're quite doing once you scrub, is removing ineffective pores and skin cells, our pores and skin makes new cells i think of approximately each and every 5-7 days.

2x a week is good enough to remove dead skin and any other toxins....use a loofah sponge and oatmeal soap is all you need...
