Take any of the following oils.....
Olive oil, coconut oil, or avocado oil, and apply to the hair, WHILE ITS DRY! Work it through from scalp to ends, cover with some type of plastic cap.. then take a towel HOT from the dryer, and wrap it around your head turban style..... Leave it on for about one hour, or even more for extra dry, damaged hair.
Wash your hair with a tiny bit of moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Run your hair under cold water. Squeeze out the excess water and apply straightning/frizz serum to your hair. Apply to the ends of your hair, not to the roots, so that they don't get oily. You might want to add some mousse for extra hold.
Detangle any knots using a wide-toothed comb If your hair is really knotty, try using a detangling spray. Do not brush!
Pin up the top section of your hair and use the round brush to blow dry your hair. Hold the hair sections out taut and point the hairdryer down to dry it. Do this section by section, so that your hair is completely dry. You may want to then dry up the hair, from the neck to the end of the strands. This makes it easier to get the hair on the back of the head.
If you have decided to use a hair straightener, put your hair into sections again, and run over your hair with the straightener. Grip one section of hair. Clamp the flat iron onto the top portion of the section. Slowly, move the iron down your hair. Repeat up to three times.
Brush hair, and finish off with a small amount of serum.
Tips
Before you get out of the shower, rinse your hair with cold water. This will make your hair extra shiny!
When blowdrying your hair, make sure the hairdryer is pointing down, so that all the hair folicles point down, which equals super shiny hair, which is the look we're going for! Also, before blow-drying, consider applying a heat protection spray.
Don't use too much hair serum or hair products, because you don't want your hair to look lank and greasy.
Some good products to try: Chi Silk Infusion or Redken Smooth Down, Nexxus Heat Protexx.
If your hair is fragile, use a low setting on the iron. If it's thick and unruly, make the heat almost the hottest it can be.
Warnings
Don't brush your hair when it's wet, because it stretches and breaks the hair. Always use a wide-toothed comb.
If you're in a rush and need to dry your hair, don't take the easy way out and use your hair straightner when it's wet. See that steam coming out? It dries out your hair. Always use a hairdryer prior to straightening.
ALWAYS use heat protection spray or else your hair will get damaged from straightener
Do thehot oil treatment once or twice a week! you will see a differance, also, if your hair has been colored or permed, you need to add protein to the hair, I use Joico K-Pac on minr and it really helps, but is pricey!
If you want to try a home remedy, mix eggs in with your olive oil and apply to the hair!
ALSO make sure you are using high quality shampoos and conditioners... and i don't mean pantene pro v. try the joico i mensioned, or another line like Boilage, or Redken, something from the salon, or beauty supply.

If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply in your area, check there. A hot oil treatment may work well on your hair, or a "heavy duty" conditioner that you leave on for a specified amount of time.
There is one product that has been around for a long time, and it's quite good. It's made by Wella, and the product is Kolestral.
I don't know where you'd find it, though. Maybe at a drugstore, or at Sally's.
Are you drying your hair too much with a hot dryer? Getting in the sun too much, maybe? Using a curling iron excessively...could be a number of things.
Also, taking a multi-vitamin might help. I think the B vitamins are good for hair and nails - you could ask at a health food store.
Good luck.

I am not sure, but I have the same problem and about two months ago I found out that I have an under active thyroid and one of the symptoms is very dry hair. Do you loose a lot of hair? Is your skin dry? Do you feel tired are depressed? If so search under active thyroid are hypothyroidism. This is common in women.

There is a really great product called Repair and Shine by farouk Hair Toys. It is so fabulous. You can stick it on your hair wet then dry it. Then put more on while it is dry. You can even use a lot of it and go to bed with it in your hair and wash it out. It is so awesome you can put it on your skin. I telling you this stuff really helps damaged dry hair, it even repairs split ends. You'll love it and it is so worth the money!!

There are plenty of shampoos and conditioners out there made to help you hair. Just take some time at the store and read the labels and see which would help your hair most.
Garnier Fructis has some really good products.
Also, stay away from too much blowdrying, curling, and straightening your hair.

Head and Shoulders is a good shampoo; so is Tegrin and Neutrogena makes a dandruff shampoo as well. If these do not work, an appointment with a dermatologist is in order.
