Shouldn't Christians be trying to find out how the Bible was interpreted by the Church from the beginning and through history?

20: First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation
- 2 Peter, chapter 1

15: But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is THE CHURCH of the living God, THE PILLAR AND FOUNDATION OF TRUTH.
- 1 Timothy, chapter 3

2: I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the TRADITIONS even as I have delivered them to you.
- 1 Corinthians, chapter 11

15: So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the TRADITIONS which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.
- 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2

I'm Catholic, I do a some free hand. Or, maybe a lot of free hand. That's beside the point. The point is having an understanding of Catholicism. Then the Bible makes sense.

How far back would you like to go? How about to the earliest Jewish Sect of 'The Way', just after Jesus but before Christianity, when everyone was just doing their best to figure it all out. After all, when this is spoken, there are not that many 'traditions' yet.

Ye gods no. Or if they do, only out of historical curiosity. Not as a way to live their life. They were bloody barbaric back then. Still.

When you guys work out what Christianity is and what Jesus wanted please let me know and I’ll consider converting.

My personal opinion and answer: Jesus was against both organised religion (Catholicism) and Bibliotry (Protistantism), but his disciples who wrote the NT were divided hence all the division & confusion.
