Listen to them. They seem kinder than you. You might learn something.

Have you considered what becoming a Mormon brings to your life? Have you considered sitting down and taking some time to talk to the missionaries about the teachings of Christ? It doesn't matter how you were raised or if you were a baptist or not. The truth can come to your door at any day. If you reject the teachings, you may never come across it ever again. Give it a chance. Sit down and let God reveal his truth. Some people seek this truth, but they don't receive it. Be thankful it has come upon your door. Take the chance and don't let it go.

Dear Forest Lover,
Keep looking for the Baptist church or a Bible-based non-denominational church.
And check Deuteronomy as Buzz says. Specifically look at
Deuteronomy 18:20-22.

I served as a mormon missionary. The thing is that they spend 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 2 years trying to find someone to teach. (might I add without a cent of pay) So occasionally they'll find someone who is nice, but not interested. They'll do everything they can to make sure that they give that person every chance they can to accept their message. All you need to do is politely make it known that you are not interested and that you would appreciate it if they didn't come back. They should respect your response. This won't guarantee that other mormon missionaries won't come back later because they change about every 3 months so they won't know that you'd already been talked to.

You have a few choices.
1. You can tell them not to come around anymore and that you want to stay with the religion that you were raised in.
2. You can tell them that you are uncomfortable with them coming around.
3. You could take a chance to find out what Mormons believe in. You may not believe in the same things, and you may decide that it isn't for you, but in the end you will find out what they truly believe (and not what people think they believe).
I have known a few mormon missionaries, and when you ask them not to come around anymore, they do respsct your wishes.

I know a couple of Mormons and they have never been pushy to me. I am not Mormon. You could tell them that are being pushy or write to their pastor or leader or whatever and ask them to take your name off the list or something. Or, invite them to come with you to find a Baptist church.

Honestly, the quickest way to get rid of them is to talk to them-- No, don't sit there and listen to their entire speal. Invite them in ONLY with the purpose to answer some of your questions about the LDS church. THEN, ask them difficult questions for them to answer. Such as:
Why are there so many versions of when Joseph Smith supposedly saw Jesus & God? Why did so many Mormon Prophets & leaders say that angels came to Jospeh--instead of God and Jesus? (Brigham Young said, "the Lord sent his messengers to Joseph," (Journal of Discourses, vol 2, pg 171). Orson Pratt said, "God sent his angel to the 14 year old Joseph" (J of D vol 14, pg 261-62) and angels not Jesus came to Joseph Smith.
Or ask why they believe that Jesus was begotten by God having sex with Mary. Mormon Doctrine, page 547, "Christ was begotten by an Immortal Father the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers." Journal of Discourses, vol 1, page 50 "now remember from this time forth, and forever, that Jesus Christ was not begotten by the Holy Ghost."
Or how they can believe that Christ's crucifixion was based upon polygamy and that's why he was killed. (Journal of Discourses vol 1, 346.)
Or why do they believe Joseph Smith is still a prophet when a prophecy of his didn't come true? D&C (their scripture) 84:1-5, Joseph Smith prophecied that the New Jerusalem would be built in Missouri during his generation.
If you start asking them questions like these, they won't come back.
And if they do? Post a sign on your door that says, "All Mormon missionaries that ring my doorbell/knock owe me $200--each bell/knock." If they still knock, open the door and ask for your money--even better, have a camera ready--and threaten to take them to collections.

Tell them that God has given you some instructions in Deuteronomy that you must follow. The instructions relate to how to deal with false prophets. God has ordered you not to listen to them.
The Mormon church has claimed to restore a bunch of things - including the priesthood that was lost. If you look at what they have and what the Book of Hebrews says, you will see that the priesthood they have is not a true restoration.

When you see them coming down the street, get naked and wait until they are almost to your door. Hop in the shower, let them ring the door-bell a bit and open the door dripping wet with the towel around you and scream, "What the hell do you want". They will go away and after the third time, they will stay away. You might want to rethink your superstitious beliefs, there are no such things as gods. A "Mormons and JWs will be shot on sight" sign might work too.

This is for Warren H.
It wasn't the gun. There are crazy people out there. More than likely you are not one them. If you were you would have used the gun, but you didn't. They took it that you didn't want them to knock on your door any longer. We realize that peoples lives change, heart conditions change and you will get a knock once again at your door one day.

Tell them you will call the police. Mormons don't take no, too seriously. I am an ex-mormon and made the mistake of telling the missionaries, I use to be mormon. I can't get rid of them either. A new set of Mormons show up evey so often. They got my records from my home town (Mormon records) and they decided to corner my son one day and try to talk to him. This offended me. Next time, i am going to show them my gun, if they come on my property again.
