I don't know what the situation is like now, but 7 years ago designer clothing in Italy was outrageously high, higher than in USA. Perhaps you can now understand why reasonably priced knockoffs are in such great demand. I live in the Philippines, and enjoy the tons of Chinese "Italian" designer goods. :-)

According to my friend who is Italian (living in Torino) designer clothing is much more expensive in Italy than in the U.S....she has been to New York and she noticed the prices. She said that things like jeans are much cheaper here.

Eh...not really! Don't buy the fakes off the street.
I found AWESOME clothes in the used clothes stores. Amazing coats, jeans and shoes. Give those a try too.

deppends whereu go... in outlets are cheap... but i think prices are preaty much the same everywhere... they are cheaper in europe thats where its made... there american clothes are much more expensive than armani and gucci and roberto cavali ect. and they are ceaper in the US...
