I think that that is one of the major things wrong with what a lot of churches preach. I personally don't believe that God would send any of us to hell if we never had the chance to hear and accept Jesus. There are literally billions of souls who walked the earth that never even heard about Jesus. God would not do that to us. If He did, then He might as well skip the whole coming to earth thing, and send some of us to hell. I think that people who are dead, keep progressing and learning. I think that after we are dead we still get chances to set things right. I know a lot of people dis agree with me, but I refuse to believe in all the BS of this. Sorry, I got into a rant there. I also think that the guy above me should not bash other religions and judge people into hell. We were not put here to judge others, but to love and help each other. Condemning other religions doesn't help you. And all I can say is 'you better be sure'

Even if people in Heaven are/will be "loving", that doesn't mean that they are not sad about those who refused the offer. Just as Noah must have been sad about all those who refused the offer to enter the Ark.
But we are told that there will be a time, in Heaven or in the New Jerusalem, when God will wipe away all tears, there will be no more sorrow, crying, etc. Some how either our understanding will be to greatened OR God is somehow going to delete our bad memories. We do not know just how the Just and Holy God will make all things right; but we are certain that He will.
We have His promise.

That whole "eternal torment" thing was never God's idea...God neither wants nor needs that kind of revenge. That was invented by human beings...and particularly nasty ones at that, I think.
"The wages of sin", according to the Bible, "is death"...not eternal torment..."but the gift of God is eternal life"
Death and hell are scheduled to be tossed into the incinerator (along with anything else that would do harm in God's kingdom) and burned up...that is totally destroyed.
Now, what about these others you mentioned, who have not accepted Christ? I'm not really sure, but I do trust God's judgment about it. Personally, I think they'll live on, only not in Heaven with Jesus...but that's just my opinion. I don't really know.

All you have to do is read "a_blvr" to see what you're up against. According to him you're "irrational" because you can't see how perfectly wonderful it is for a decent person to suffer for all eternity because they didn't accept Jesus. And you're a hypocrite because you insist on defining love as an emotion that does NOT call for the pain of the object of your love! Perhaps Kafka has taken over theology.
On this very forum you will read, time and again, how the disciples of the "loving" God are just itching to get a heaven's-gate seat so they can watch all those Jesus-deniers burn forever. "Let's see how you like THAT, you sinner!" they will gloat.
Even though I am a non-believer, in all fairness I have to say I've met a great number of genuine Christians who did not subscribe to this barbaric and hateful attitude. You'd do well to continue your dialog with those Christians whose hearts have conquered the viciousness of primitive dogma.

I am a Christian and I dont damn people to hell. Neither do any other Christians I know. GOD is the judge of who goes to Heaven or hell. And yes it would bother me very much if someone I loved was burning in hell. Thats why as Christians we are supposed to tell people about JESUS and how HE will save us. That is why I am raising my kids to be Christians. We are all sinners and we should not judge other people, I think non Christians get confused about the fact that we are to love the sinner , but hate the sin.

I am a Christian, and be sure, I do deserve hell. I don't want anyone to end up in hell, but what can we do? We have the Bible and those who tell the world how to avoid hell. We offer the get out of hell free plan, they won't take it.
Who will be there? Atheist, Agnostics, many who think the know the way but never have trusted Jesus, like roman catholics, Jehovah witness's, Mormons and so many others. All people who have heard the truth and refused it. There are people in this world who I know and love, many of them will be in hell and I have told them many times how to avoid it.
God reaches out to everyone, why do they refuse His GIFT?????
Good news, NO PAIN IN HEAVEN! We won't be sitting around thinking who cares, we all care but we won't have memory of people we care about and didn't take the FREE GIFT OF SALVATION.

First of all it is the individual person's decision where they go for eternity. If they accept Jesus they go to Heaven if they deny Him then they go to Hell. There is nothing we can do to force anybody to accept Jesus. As Christians we want everyone to go to Heaven and we try to tell as many people as possible about God, but ultimately we cannot make the decision to believe for them, they have to do that on their own. I don't think that God would send anyone to Hell if they honestly have never heard of Him at all before, but do you think that there is even one person in this world who has never heard of God? God will make sure that everyone has a fair choice. Heaven is paradise, meaning there is no pain or bad feelings or bad things there. God takes all that away from us so that we no longer have to suffer. God sent his son Jesus Christ to die for each and every one of us so that every person has the oppurtunity to go Heaven and to have a relationship with Him. On earth it is a difficult concept to grasp but God is going to give us a new body when we get to Heaven and we aren't going to feel pain because of those in Hell. God does not want to see anyone go to Hell. He suffers every day because of it, but if every single person went to Heaven then it would be exactly as it is here on earth and Heaven would not be paradise then. It is your decision whether or not to accept Christ and if you don't then you ahve to accept the consequences.

no christians do not say people should roast in hell because they deserve it. we simply go by Gods word and what he has to say about it. anyone can be kind, loving and thoughtful, christians try be. we are not perfect and don't claim to be. there is a saying that christians are not perfect just forgiven. its the truth. the Bible says that all can come to him and be forgiven, but it also says that the wages of sin is death. its simple if you never ask the Lord to to forgive you then the end result is death (eternity in hell) not because christians are saying so its what God says. we do love and we do forgive and we Don't go around damning people, but we do listen to the Lord and that is what being a christian is all about. the ability to learn to love , forgive and tell others about Gods word. there are no genuinely decent people, we are all sinners saved by grace. but we do TRY to be decent through the Lord, he makes it possible!

(Revelation 20:10-to-15) And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
(Rev 20:11) And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
(Rev 20:12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
(Rev 20:13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
(Rev 20:14) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
(Rev 20:15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Thanks, RR

Because they know that were it not for the grace of God, they would be there too.
They made the right choice, the ones in hell made the wrong choice, but they did it with full knowledge that they had not fulfilled the requirements to go to heaven.
Why is it such a big deal?
If they don't believe in God, why would they want to spend eternity with him.
Do you want to spend eternity with a myth?
I doubt it.
Wouldn't that be hell?
