There are many clinics with discounted fees. Males cost less to neuter than females. You can plan on paying for shots, license, etc. at the same time, so it will be around $80 for everything. Here in New Mexico, an organization called "No More Homeless Pets NMHP) will pay for the surgery if you have low income and give them a call. They do not cover the shots, tho'.

Best wishes.

It depends widely on where you live. If cost is an issue, most city/county animal shelters will perform the surgery or recommend where you can have it done for a reasonable price.

Thank you for being responsible and wanting to neuter your dog!

You can ask your local animal control and shelters about low cost/free spay and neuter programs in your area.

Or you can purchase a spay or neuter certificate through http://www.friendsofanimals.org and use it at your local vet, which will save you A LOT of money.

The human society is the cheapest. There is a place in Indiana called focus that does it for free. I would look for a local free service.

Check and see if your vet participates in Spay Day in February. You can get it done for as little as $35.
