More than likely its the magnet on the camgear ,rather than the sensor that`s at fault. seen this many times on 3.8 engines around that year. To replace it look at aluminum timing chain cover,you will see it.

jack up pass side of vehicle, remove tire, drain radiator, remove balancer pully,disconnect water hoses, remove all bolts and oil filter.remove timing cover. allign timing points remove gears and sensor. reverse steps to complete.
