there are so many that they sell, i'm curious to know. if a police officer sees it will you recieve a ticket?

In most states anyone can use a radar detector, as long as it doesn't obstruct the view of the window. Police can ticket you for that, but not having the radar. You also CAN'T have one if you drive one of those big mac trucks. That's illegal.

I am a police detective. Radar detectors/Scanners/Laser detectors are not regulated or illegal in Georgia. Radar/Laser detectors are only illegal in Virgina, District of Columbia and New York for commercail vehicles over 18000 pounds. Scanners are regulated or illegal in several more states but Georgia is not one of them.

If placed in the center lower or upper part of the windshield you wont be cited for view obstruction.

It's illegal here just like in other states. However, Georgia has so many small towns it is unlikely you would get a ticket from a local cop. State Patrol is a completely different story.

They r only illegal if they have a scrabbling device in them. Then u r looking at a D felony. Why, u may ask? Because u r messing w/FCC than.
