Ok I know what being in heat is but the question I have is this: My cat Najwa is 6 months this is the first day ever of her being in heat. We plan on spaying her but she came in heat before we had a chance. Is she is pain? What can I do for her? She just lays in the floor rolling around crying and scratching on the rug. I feel sorry for her can I do anything? Thanks

Also she is an indoor cat (their is no way for her to get out) or others to get in. We have another kitty she is a girl as well. I do not plan on ever letting her be around any male cats.

No she's not in pain, she is only trying to get male attention. No, there is nothing you can do for her except set up an appointment to get her spayed before she comes in heat again which will roughly be in about 21 days.

Make sure she doesn't get pregnant. She should NOT have a litter of kittens this young to begin. Don't fall for the old wives tale concerning letting her have one litter before spaying...there is not an ounce of truth to it in fact the longer she stays intact the greater her chances are of having mammary cancer and other reproductive cancers or a very serious often fatal infection called pyometria.

There's not much you can do to relieve her symptons. Just remember a cat's heat cycle is normally 21 days or three weeks.
Seven days before going into heat, seven days in heat and seven coming out of heat.

she is not in pain. She is just looking for a male. Having a cat in heat is very annoying. You can have her spayed while she is in heat but it will cost more. Ask your vet

Unlike dogs, cats rarely show signs of vaginal bleeding during estrus. However, their behavior changes greatly, with the majority of Her becoming quite vocal and loud, and showing increased signs of affection. They may roll around on the floor or plop down right in front of you as you are walking; they constantly want to be with you and be stroked, and when you pet them on their back, they will raise their rear end up high and knead with their front paws. You need to either have her fixed, but dont do it until she has had one litter of kittens. Its unhealthy to fix her before. Ask your vet when the best time to have her fixed. Or you can just let nature run its course.

Some male cats will try to sneak in the house or tear a screen to get in, so try and keep her "locked" inside.

She's just...uh...craving some attention.

PLEASE get her fixed right away. The vet can operate even if she is in heat. Also, in an herb store you can find "Rescue Remedy:" it is an herb and will help her calm down a bit. Good for people, too.

Best wishes.

l've heard that it is better to let a cat go thru its first heat but the minute she is done u should get to the vet. you dont want to wait to long.

Scratch her right above her tail. This will make a mess, and make her want a cigarette, but will shut her up for a little while.

(I don't think that counts as bestiality. You might want to look it up.)
