Every vet I've ever talked to recommends keeping cats indoors: they will be happy and healthy. Outside is full of dangers and I see results of it all too often. Get kitty catnip, lots of toys, and love and you both will have a long and happy life together. You may want to consider getting kitty a kitty to play with, as they are very social creatures.

Indoor/outdoor cats are not good for either the cat or the environment. Research it and then decide. If you want your cat to experience the outdoors buy it a harness and a leash.

many cats roam through neighborhoods and return home when they feel like it. you should make it familiar with your home, then let it out along with you, then slowly, but surely, he/she would roam around the neighborhood and return home. Our neighbors cat even goes through the sewers and then returns home.
