I believe the IRC building code just reciently decided all fraiming must be done with a FULL HEAD nail. You might want to check with the local building inspector first if you are going to have the project inspected. If no inspection- I use a clipped head gun for fraining/general building and it works great and has for years.

I have a clipped-head nail gun and I use it all the time for framing. I also have a full-head nail gun and it use it also. You just have to buy two different types of nails.
