You didn't mention the purpose of the speech. If this assignment is simply to gain experience at speaking in public then keep the topic simple. "How to" or directional speeches can be the easiest. Give a speech on how to take care of a pet or how to grow a plant or garden. You can even speak on how to make a smoothie or how to study for a test. What's important is that your directions are complete and accurate.

Speak about something you know or something that has had an impact on your life.
