They are in a fruit basket given to me. They have the skin of an orange, and orange type fruit inside, but are shaped and sized like a grape. Also, they are very sour.

They're kumquats. You eat the skin, not the flesh! Sorta opposite, but the skin is sweet. They are great for making marmalade!

They are called kumquats. In appearance the kumquat fruit (generally called simply "kumquat") resembles a miniature oval orange, 3-5 cm long and 2-4 cm wide. Depending on variety, peel color ranges from yellow to red. A Nagami kumquat has an oval shape, while a Marumi kumquat is round.

Kumquat fruit is generally in season from late autumn to mid-winter, and can be found in most food markets with other produce.

It's likely a kumquat.

The kumquat tree is slow-growing, shrubby, compact, 8 to 15 ft tall, the branches light-green.

The fruit is oval-oblong or round, 5/8 to 1 1/2 in (1.6-4 cm) wide; peel is golden-yellow to reddish-orange, with large, conspicuous oil glands, fleshy, thick, tightly clinging, edible, the outer layer spicy, the inner layer sweet; the pulp is scant, in 3 to 6 segments, not very juicy, acid to subacid; contains small, pointed seeds or sometimes none; they are green within.
