I have a lg fear of needles. I've managed to deal w/ it every time it came of having blood drawn, etc. Having 2 kids, it's not something I considered optional.

I've been lucky to go through my teen & adult years (this far - I'm 28) w/o any cavities - until now. While, like the tests & things I had to have done during pregnancy, I don't consider this optional either. My problem is that my fear of needles sends me straight into an anxiety attack. I went in for my appt today & while I was nervous, I told myself I was going to stick it out. It didn't happen. As soon as the asst. put the topical in my mouth to numb the gums, I lost it. I started gagging on saliva & the topical, got sick to my stomach and got really dizzy. After the dentist found out about it she sent me home w/ a new appt & a prescription for 12 mg of Vallium to take an hour before hand. Honestly, I don't know how Vallium's going to fix this! I was just wondering if anyone had any similiar experiences or tips.
