My miniature schnauzer is only 8 weeks old. I want to take him with us on the plane but I am worried that he may offend the other passengers...Plus it cost 80 dollars....please share your experiances if you have had one! Thanks

I fly with my chihuahua in the cabin all the time. His first trip was when he was 10 weeks old and he did great! Most vets do not recommend giving your dog a sedative. Get your puppy used to the carrier you'll be taking him in. Line the carrier with a potty pad. Don't give him too much water, and try something like Nutrical (instead of food) so he doesn't get low blood sugar or an upset tummy. Make sure he wears a warm sweater or has a blanket...the floors get cold this time of year. Good luck!

Its $80 or it goes in the cargo hold which is not heated, so wrap him well if you do that.
If you take him on board, I would still give him some puppy tranquilizer & what about the compression / decompression that gives kids earaches ? Won't that give it to the puppy also ?

you definitely have to pay to get your dog on the plane. You may want to also ask your vet about sedation, if it's a long trip. I brought my bischon from Germany to Connecticut and he got to stay with me after we landed in Heathrow to NY, but had to stay in Cargo until then.

I don't think they let you have him with you on the plane - he has to travel with the luggage in a special cage so he should be a bit traumatised but ultimately fine.
