I know it is no use saying this because I cant change the past and I have to accept the reality.
I have been severely depressed since 16 and it has given me horrendous pains. It didn't stop there. While coping with the pains from the severe depression, I got into using porn/mb to dull pains.
People say God never gives you more than you can handle. But everyday is so painful, unendurable to live with severe depression and lust problem.
In all honesty, having just one of the 2 problems is enough battle to deal with. Having to fight against both of them is just driving me insane and crazy.
I am tired of struggling, suffering, not being able to even lead normal, ordinary life.
I know I can only do so much. I hope God shows miracles or just ends my suffering for good. Because I feel like I tried all I could with patience, endurance, determination. Right now, I am out of courage, motivation, strength.

instead of looking a porn, try reading your bible. stop every once in a while and pray for the Holy Spirit to help you understand.
you need to get out of your self and reach out to others.
go to a bible believing church and make some friends.
as long as you dwell in your problem the answers will elude you.

God will take you to the breaking point if that is what it takes to get your attention. God is calling you in a very powerful way. You do not yet realize your good fortune.
You cannot change the past, but you can ask God to forgive you and then forgive yourself. Learn what you can from the past and then put it away and prepare to move forward. Stop struggling to lead a normal ordinary life; God has something better for you.
Open your heart to Him and beg Him to come in. Open your mind to Him, He will show you the way. My friend I feel so happy for you, I hope you tune the world out and tune into God real soon. He will end your suffering and depression. I could have written a very similar question several years ago, and after looking for answers everywhere I could think of, I asked God to help me. He saved my life!
It’s a difficult path, you’ll stumble and you’ll feel like giving up. He will forgive you and pick you up each time you ask, He is never going to give up on you. Don’t let yourself give up on Him.
Peace :)

Well you wouldn't learn much if everything in your life went the way you wanted it to . . . it is through trial and suffering that we are brought closer to God. Please believe this. Pressure is what turns coal into diamonds . . . . perhaps you are here to learn to overcome these things so that you can help others do the same. There is a great book out there called "Learned Optimism" that may help you. If you can change the way you perceive things, you can change your life . . . depression is like a cancer of your thoughts so you have to learn to change your beliefs. Start reading books that will help you in this area. Inspirational books also help you stay positive. When you "see" others who have overcome their trials and tribulations - it gives you hope.
On another note, depression is also chemical so perhaps an antidepressant would help as well as exercising. Both increase the seratonin and endorphins in your brain. Just don't give up, keep the faith and you will overcome!

It is said that God never gives more than you can take. I cannot speak to the truth of that statement.
Please, get help from somebody else. You do not need to shoulder these burdens on your own. Other people can help. There is no shame in asking for help. Perhaps God gave you these burdens to test others near you, to see if they would help you with your burdens.
Professional help is there. Perhaps the depression can be dealt with. Make an appointment with any Doctor- they will get you pointed in the right direction and refer you to a specialist.
You seem religious- check with your clergy person. Perhaps the church can help you find the help you need.
I worry that you are at a crossroads and you are getting ready to choose a road. Before you do, check with the man at the gas station- perhaps he has been down those roads and knows where they go.
I hope the best for you.

God did not give you these problems. You give it to your self. You make your world into a big YOU. Your bad exprience in life beats you down, instead of getting out of it,and become a strong and wiser person you sunked in to it.LIFE IS A LEARNING PROCESS. say this every day that you love the best person in you that others are not responsible to your happiness. Get out and help people,be with people at all times, this is hard at first. Pray to God " Father help me to get out of this situation right now. thank you father." good things will be open to you. All your problems are on your mind. So change the pattern of your mind. Remember YOU ARE THE GREATEST THAT EVER HAPPEN IN THIS UNIVERSE.

I know this may sound radical but have you tried not watching television at all, not listening to any music that doesn't glorify God, not reading any books or magazine or newspapers other then those that Glorify God. My husband suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. We found that the less of these sorts of depressing things he allows into his mind the better he feels.

There are many sources of free counseling and it would probably help much more if you could speak with someone face to face instead of typing on the computer and reading words of advice. There are many caring individuals who will understand your situation and help you. A doctor can also prescribe medication that will greatly alleviate your depression. I know many who were extremely depressed until they started taking meds. Now they are totally normal. You don't say how old you are now, but for depression to begin at age 16, you definitely need professional help ... not Yahoo Answers.
If you do not know how to find free counseling, please email me and I will be happy to help.
Whatever you decide, whatever you do .... please don't give up.

I have come close to giving iup myself. The past 1 1/2 years were hell but I somehow made it through. Everything that I gave up to serve God seemed to come back and bite me. My finances suffered, as did my relationship with wife and kids, and all I got was grief for trying to do the right thing. For a while I even stopped attending church. But something in me won't let me totally give up. I can't explain it logically, but there has been a very few people who have given me hope. I don't believe that it is coincidence that those people are people of strong faith themselves. People that have had their own personal struggles in the flesh and in their spirits. Gravitate towards those people and let God use them in your life. Good luck.

pray I mean it sounds cliche but try it. Don't say hey God take away my pain and desires just pray to find other more suitible things to do with your time. If MB/Porn are bothering you it probably only adds to your depression and you say you are fighting against both, try one at a time start with MB/porn since you most likely don't need meds for that. Talk to a counceller and try to work through it all. God does not give you more than you can handle so talk to God and listen

First, let me assure you that my God is bigger than any circumstance in my life. I don't always understand His ways, but I know that I can trust Him. Secondly, whatever Christian told you that God will never give you more than you can handle has never read scripture. Scripture says God will never allow you to be "tempted" beyond what you can handle and that with every tempation, HE will provide a means of escape. God will always give us more than we can handle so that we will depend upon Him alone. You see, the problem with temptation is that our flesh is weak. We want what we want, and our world is full of messages that say that we have a right to be gratified.
The only answer to your problem is for you to talk to someone that is your gender who you trust that can hold you accountable. God will always give you a way of escape, you just have to choose to take it. Let me promise you, the God of the universe who made everything and sustains it by the power of His word knows you...and He knows your pain...and He wants to change your life. Take the steps to meet Him.
