Most people don't even know what Creationists believe. They just like to mimic each other in bashing it.
I don't think biology teachers should be fired. I believe in creation and I survived biology class, faith intact. Our books taught evolution as a theory, which it is. My question is, why just teach one theory! How is that education? And you claim we are closed minded? Evolution is not a fact! It has not been proven the same as Divine Creation has not been disproven.
Just look at how many things scientists have gone through as far as theories: Big Bang, oragnic "soup", evolution, and more and more and it just keeps changing! Science from just 20 years ago is laughable today. Creationsists have never changed. You could say we are the control group in a scientific experiment by now. :o)

You said it all really. Creationism or ID should never be put side-by-side with any science curriculum. Science deals with physical evidence presented in the natural world that is collected, cataloged, then rigorously tested, peer-reviewed and repeated before it's ever published in any scientific media. This means that no religious concept can stand up to the scientific process, and whenever anyone has tried it's always failed. Religion, in no way, shape or form, is science; you simply cannot quantify or test supernatural beliefs. Finally, Theory of Evolution is not a belief, nor is science. Science is a tool and process, not a belief that requires faith. Faith is a belief in the face of no evidence, and since science requires physical evidence, the two cannot mix. Nevermind this guy clearly violated school policy and abused his position. Any employer anywhere would fire someone who violates policies they agreed upon when hired.

Evolutions is a theory based in many scientific facts. Teaching it is not a lie. Should physics teacher be fired for teaching the theory of relativity? Many of the modern world achievements are base in this theory. You very own existence is based in these two theories. Evolution and relativity do not deny the existence of God, if anything, they make it more plausible.

Students are lied to all the time. It's called a curriculum. Evolution is far more truthful than the typical content of an American History course.

This is where the R&S section becomes comedy for me. I can't believe these people actually think that Evolution is a fairy tale, because we were made of dirt and ribs in six days. I certainly have a hard time believing anyone would WANT their children taught such foolish things. But apparently I was wrong. There are people like that here.

Its interesting. But they shouldnt be fired unless they arent teaching anything worthwhile or making it look like we have to learn it out of boredom. They should do their job. Sometimes we all have to lie too but its not good lying about education.

If they teach it as a theory, they should probably not get fired, if they teach it as fact, then yes.
Or, no, they can't be fired for teaching the curriculum that the school system tells them to use. It's the school board that should be convinced to change their policies or replaced.

Evolution is scientific fact. You should learn what scientific 'theory' is, it is not how it is used in the general community.
And I don't think female teachers should be fired for sleeping with their students either, as long as they are hot blonds, which seems to be a trend nowadays.....

i am a creationist. but i honestly dont think they should be fired.they are just doing their job. i do however believe that a class should be devoted to creation biology for those who want it. alot of those teachers believe what they are teaching so they really dont think they are lying. i know poeple say you cant have a creation based biology in public schools because it offends people. well...what do you think the evolution does to some people....offends them! the world is just so secular.
