I know for sure that my Sony Wega TV is S-video compatible, but just recently I discovered the Red, Blue, and Green inputs on the back. Does this mean that the tv is 480p compatible?

This a 2000 Sony FD Trinitron Wega, and the model number is KV-27FV16, if that helps.

Component (red, green, blue) supports 480i and 480p. Just because you have component does not implicate that your TV is 480p. There is a good chance, but no guarantee.

Best way is to look at the specs at Sony's web site. I believe Sony did not make 480i TV's with component, but I would still check.

Nope the red green and blue mean your TV can support component input. It doesn't mean your TV can support progressive input, if you want to know more about your TV you can read the spec.
