i had a hard time just like that in middle school. Well we couldn't convince them so we just ignored them. And random people would ask if we were going out and stuff and we just kept saying no. Some people are just so nosey. So just keep sticking to your story.

Tell the girl herself and if people mention it just make a comment and then move on. It doesn't have to be a big deal unless you make it one!
