So you've read Ken Wilber, or at least you think like him. It is difficult to comprehend that duality is an illusion and that all is one... I don't understand it either.

It is a fair representation of Quantum Mechanics which holds that the very act of observation affects the object being observed, even at the sub-atomic level. This would in turn affect the observer.

No.
If you are the object, and I am the observer, then I observe you, how are we the same?
Especially if I observe you doing something that I think is wrong?
You are trying too hard to think. You really shouldn't try to work without the right tools. Can you understand that?

No, but here's a guess. We all possess energy....by the act of observing, the observer is becoming one with the object...thus they become the same?

You can approach this idea from various angles and find it to be true; it is the basic tenet of Zen Buddhism and much of physics!
If you understand that we are made of atoms, and that atoms are just manifestations of energy, then the barrier between the three vanishes; if you think about how much of each atom is actually the "space between" its components, then you realize that what everything is "made of" is mostly space, so the only critical component is the energy; if you accept the Zen notion that "what is, is", it becomes simple to see that seperating the observer from the observed is simply an illusion.
