Jesus was God.
God is not Jewish.
He came wrapped in Jewish flesh, is all...but He got in trouble with the Jewish "powers that were" almost as soon as His ministry began by flouting Jewish tradition left and right...even to breaking the law of the Sabbath, and not only by healing...He and His followers actually PICKED CORN AND RUBBED IT BETWEEN THEIR HANDS (that is they worked) on the Sabbath.
Not only that, the Man had the effrontery to make Himself equal with God by claiming to be God's very Own Son!
No, Jesus was emphatically NOT a Jew.
(btw, the last supper wasn't actually a Passover Sedar...if you recall your Scripture, Jesus and the other crucified men had to be taken down before sunset because it was "The Jews' Passover. The meal Jesus shared with His disciples was the "Fast of the Firstborn" or something like that that took place the night before, commemorating the death of every firstborn of the Egyptians...I read about it online somewhere, but I can't find it now, sorry.)

Christians in the early church were Jews and celebrated the Jewish Holy days, until someone decided that being a Jew wasn't very popular through flawed theology. (Acts 2, Acts 11:26) They claimed it was the Jews who put Jesus to death when it was the Roman government that did. Jews became scapegoats for the false replacement theology that still permeates most denominations to this day. The Church was never to replace the Jews. See Revelation 19 and the one hundred forty four thousand in the New testament are the Jews called the Wife and Bride of Christ. They are the 12,000 out of each tribe of Israel and Judah meaning praise. Sea means the nations Revelation 7 and Revelation 19

It is my understanding that Judaism do not recognize Jesus as the saviour off the world and that he is returning again for people who follow is teachings. Yes, Jesus was born in Israel but he came for the whole world. Christians do recognize some of the Jewish beliefs and Holydays as do some Jews recognize some of ours.

First of all Catholics and Christians are one and the same. Secondly, The Passover was a shadow of what was to happen. The blood of a lamb without spot or blemish on the side posts and over the door signified a "blood covering" thus the angel of death "passed over". Christians believe that the blood of "Christ the Lamb" is a "covering for sin".

It's my understanding that although executed by the romans, Caiphas and such demanded his execution, given his claims of divinity and being the messiah. Probably his replacment of the ten commandments (I replace these with but two, love thy neighbour, ect) and such replaced most old beliefs, and his betrayal by the jewish elders seperated him from the older beliefs.
However, it's worthy to note that the old church replaced a great deal of celtic holidays (Shamain became all saints day, Imbolic became easter, and such) as far as their timing on the calendar early in the middle ages, so in reality the date of most christian holidays has nothing to do with when these certain events occurred from a historical sense, but more to do with the assimilation of european beliefs into the judeo-christian faith.
So to make a long story short, christianity adapted to it's surroundings and left the older hebrew beliefs behind.

Jews are a trick of the Bible.
Jesus was Two Thieves Crucified by the Roman Governor.
Christ was a prophet (See John Chapter 9) to the Children of Israel who were Muslims and who were known as Yahuudi and are still known as Yahuudi.
Jesus was a Biblical Jew.
What you call Jewish is actually from the Islam of the Children of Israel.
Jews were one tribe of twelve and tibalism was abandond by Musa (Moses).
No Israeli today is able to trace his ancestry to any of the twelve tribes.

Jesus was a Jew--he lived a Jewish life and all the rituals. He did not found a new religion. He taught people how to life the type of Jewish life they had strayed away from.
People who followed him made up Christianity. It was not in the mind of Jesus to make a new religion-he wanted Judaism lived as it was suppose to be lived.

They did at first.
Then Paul said the non-jews could be Christians too.
This lead to issues @ keeping Jewish traditions from the old testament .
Paul said belief in Christ's work went beyond all our works.
His death paid the price for our sin. Now there were no works to amend for sin but HIS.
God said it was enough.

i believe that the Jews believe that God is God and Jesus is Jesus. Christians believe they are deeply connected. the Jews do no think that the way to heaven is through Jesus as Christians do. i think they dont celebrate each others holidays because they disagree too much.

Cuz we branched out and made our own holidays up. Totally respect the Jewish holidays and high holy days---but we're just doin' our own thing.
Nothing wrong with that--diversity is what makes the world go 'round, man.
