There is no way to get rid of a sunburn...but you can sooth it by using 100% aloe vera gel or cream or using oatmeal soaks in the tub. Don't use really hot water in the shower or bath...but warm water...the hot water will make you very uncomfortable. Also, if you are on any medications check with your doctor to see that they don't interfer with being in the sun (this happened to me and I had a horrible burn that landed me in the hospital) or make a burn worse. If aloe vera gel/cream and oatmeal soaks don't help...talk to your doctor. He/She may be able to prescribe something better. If you are in a lot of pain b/c of the burn take Ibuprofen as it acts as an anti-inflammatory and may reduce any swelling associated with the burn. Good luck...sunburns are no fun...I hope you feel better soon.

Sunburn Relief
Mild sunburn can cause redness, pain, and slight swelling for about three to seven days. Skin may peel and be itchy.
Here are some home remedies that may provide relief from a mild sunburn.
1) Hydrotherapy
Brief baths, showers, and towel compresses can help to keep the sunburn cool and hydrated. The temperature of the water should be cool to lukewarm. Water that is too hot can strip skin's natural oils.
For a mild sunburn, try taking a cool bath or shower. Or place wet, cool towels on the affected areas for 10 to 15 minutes, several times a day.
2) Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe is a plant native to Africa. The long green leaves contain aloe gel. Aloe gel is believed to have anti-inflammatory effects and is used topically to soothe burned skin and to help heal wounds

Soak in cool water with a handful of baking soda in the water. Rinse your face with it repeatedly too. Apply the liquid from inside the stems of aloe vera plants. It works wonders on burns, irritations, etc. You could also use a lotion with antisecptic and numbing qualities, like solarcaine or any other lotion aimed at treating sunburn and insect bites. Ask your pharmacist to recommend one. But I think the main thing is to keep applying/soaking in baking soda-water.

it will take a while no matter what you do, but use things such as aloe vera, but try to buy something specifically for sunburn (such as solarcaine, like i use) or it will itch like crazy after you put the aloe on. (trust me i know, i live in florida). a final not is to stay out of the sun as much as you can since if your peeling it can put a burn back on in a flash, without even that long in the sun. but don't use sunscreen because it can sometimes make your skin take longer to heal.

there is no way to get rid of a sunburn....the only thing you can do is try to soothe the pain....i suggest aloe Vera gel. they also have something on the market called solarcaine. it has a numbing agent.....do not use it is you have blisters on open wound on skin. the only other thing is to prevent it by using sunscreen.

you really can't get rid of sunburn, just help the pain. aloe helps, and keep it moisturized. always wear sunblock on your face (only put the ones specially made for the face, or else you'll break out- too oily) and body.
