Yes. Thats why they put dates on things. To protect the consumer. The dry ingredents can lose flovar and if it sits past the date it will get bugs. Mix don't cost much buy a fresh one.

No, it should be okay. The problem basically lays in any leavening agent that was added to the dry mix that helps it rise in addition to the fresh eggs you will add. Check the ingredients of the mix. Most cake mixes have both baking powder and baking soda in them. If you have any baking powder on hand, then you might want to add 1/4 teaspoon to the mix before adding anything else, just as a precaution.

Nah. It usually just means that your baking soda or powder in the mix may have expired, which only means that your cake may not be as high as it could have been. No harm.

I know with pancake batter, sometimes when expired for a while, a mold grows in it and even though you can't see it, it's there and very lethal and has killed many people. I would say that if it is expired, it expired for a reason. Mold can grow anywhere and is very toxic if eaten, and I wouldn't want to take the chances.

Years ago they didn't put dates on anything. It is either a gimick to get people to throw away perfectly good things or it lets you know how old it is in your cupboard. As long as there was nothing wrong with it, it should be okay.

Nah! I would eat it. If the package was sealed all this time, it will be fine. It's only dry ingredients like flour and sugar and stuff and that doesn't really go bad.

no danger. Mostly it just doesn't rise as much as a "fresh" mix
as long as there are not "fresh" ingedants like nuts or fruit which most mixes do not have that

no, it should be fine, the only thing that could be different is that the baking soda, baking powder and or other "risers" may have lost their strength and it may come out not as risen as it should.
good luck!
