No. That's a modern chimp. At best, a distant cousin. We both evolved from a common ancestor. And no one is 'thumbing you down' because you're Jewish - it's because you don't know much about modern biology, but obviously think you do.

Most evidence points to the notion that we and "that" (which appears to be a chimpanzee) are related through a common ancestor. Chimpanzees are the "closest" living organisms to humans in terms of genetics and what not. Although there are some who believe that there exists no common ancestry with humans and any other animals. Can either be conclusively proven? No, but there does exist great evidence in support of evolution but to answer your main question. "We" (being humans) did not directly evolve from chimpanzees based on what evidence we have.

no, actually the common chimpanzee from your photo was not our ancestor, the chimp and humans, however did share a common ancestor, that anscestor is extinct now. so, the chimp is more like a cousin than our grandfather. we also share similar DNA base pairs to the common chimp. and what is wrong with being related to primates? theyre much smarter(and less arrogant) than some of the creationists i know. we should take pride in being related to these fascinating organisims.

Why on earth would you presume that people give you thumbs down because you're JEWISH? It might have something to do with how stupid your question is. For instance, my "thumbs down" is because you whined. Nothing to do with ethnicity.

We evolved from Humanids a primitive apelike creature. We don;t evolve from monkeys, that's just a creationists scare tactic.
We were chosen by G-d to be evolve into what we are today.
