Your name choice is your own...It would have been helpful if you had named the breed...Very hard without knowing that. I have lots of suggestions BUT many are breed specific...
Here are a few for thought....

Chance
Riker
Magoo (as in Mr. Magoo)
Flash
Piper
Cruiser

But I really need to know the breed. E-amil me and I may have more ideas. Cub is a great name BUT...dog owners and trainers will tell you that a dog's name is more effective if it is 2 syllables...ie: Cubby

My dogs are: Chance (call name Chancey)
Sammy

also 2 females...Lady and Breagh (call name Breeski)...
2 syllables work best...not sure why except that most commands are 1 syllable so perhaps it is to NOT confuse them???

let me know what you decide and/or if you want more suggestions....

Depends on the type of dog, is he big or small. I love the name Cub and you know the dog so it probably suits it well.
I love the dog names:
Tyson
Jackson
Bear
Braken
J.D.
O.B. (Our Baby)
Billy
Maxy
Beach
I just realised how many names i wrote that started with a B. You know the dog best and you can pick the name that suites him best. We named our puppy "Boof" but then changed our minds and call him Jackson now. So your first instinct isn't always the best, But Cub sounds so cute and cuddly

i have had a lot of male dogs over the past 40 years. the latest is a Jack Russell named Stewie. You need to get aquainted with the dog for a few days, and a name will probably come to mind. it may not be anything you will want to print- after cleaning up several messes from the carpet, but i chose Stewie because he is always busy getting into trouble.
p.s. i am married to Bob!!

How about Bear, Max, Coby, Blake Jake or Luke? Not the most unique, but they are cool dog names.

Buster, Buddy or Fido, even though these are not unique, they are good names for dogs. I would not name a girl dog any of these names.
