i have been running for the past two years about 3 to 4 times a week...for 30 minutes (at times 2-3 miles) and i've experienced a sour experience being betrayed by my ex...now i started smoking cigarettes and havent run for the past 3 weeks... is smoking going to affect my running habbits or speed? how?

Stop smoking!! Its never too late. You are doing exactly what I did and I regretted it ever since. It took me 15 years to quit smoking, its a gross habit and is not worth it. Exercise is so much better for you and it will make you feel good.

smoking will effect your running my boyfriend use to run everyday about for about 2yrs 10 15teen miles a day now he smokes and cant run a mile.

smoking can effect your lungs in a bad way and thus lessens your endurance and can make you short of breath even when your not running. don't smoke if you want to be a runner.

Yes, it makes running harder. Also causes asthma, really bad for running. Quiet as soon as you can.
