We look to God as our father just as Jesus did. Jesus paved that road for us to have that relationship with him (through Jesus). Noone will get to the father except through Jesus.

We can only be one with him through his power.

Like a glove maybe The glove becomes one with your hand. We become one with god. The glove is certainly not equal to our hand. Without our hand, it would be dead on the floor.

But Gods love is real, not mechanical like the hand glove analogy.

If we know Jesus, we know God. He was one with him.

I think we can try to be as close to God as possible but our sin separates us from him.

Look out. 11:11 is a deception. From the evil one. He wants you to make it your God. Put your trust in the creator. Not a sign.

I have been there.

You are speaking of an adult to adult relationship. This does not exist in the monotheistic holy texts because they proselytize a parent to child relationship. As with the development of all physical life, we must also spiritually grow through childhood, into teenage-hood and finally into adulthood. When we become spiritual adults, then and only then can we have the relationship that you describe here.

Have you reached that point, Grasshopper? :)

I see that God is subject to all the same emotions that we are and at his core is a man like all of us. When I meet my maker I don't believe I will be groveling in his presence making a showy obeisance, I believe I will actually be able to have a dialogue with him. I know his true nature, I know why the world is the way it is, I will just be wondering who I was before and where we're headed now.

No... Mortals, all of mankind, are the creation of God and are his possesions. Those who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation... and those will enter Heaven... but none are to be "equal" with God.... Those who have pleased God will receive rewards accourding to what they have done. And some will receive more reward thatn others...No One knows what God has planed for those He takes into Heaven.

You don't commune with God until you've made a lot of spiritual progress, but if you listen, you might hear His voice. There is a fragment of God in all of us, trying to guide us into the right path.
We're barely in kindergarten, spiritually.

The lord of darkness has veiled the light of the man-soul. The man-soul veiled and can not see his own light. His truth, children of the light, masters of life, great power, knowledge, and wisdom is of man for the taking.

It is the only way.-------Quote, "At the core of your being you know all that is. At that level you are all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving, and all-present. This self is the creator of your world. To most people this self is hidden or non-existent..."

I commune with my child...we are not one
I commune with my dog...we are not one
I've never read in bible that we become one with God.
God dwells IN us but we are not one.
Never heard this concept before.
