God doesn't makes babies, people do. And a lot of them are not cute at all.

Seriously? It's so that their mother's would be more apt to take care of them, I read this years ago in National Geographic Magazine. It has to do with the round faces and large eyes....very appealing. It happens in the animal world also, to those that raise their young.
Paleontologist Jack Horner noticed the same features on a nest of fossilized Maiasaur infants.Fossil evidence clearly points to Maisaurs raising their young rather than letting them fend for themselves. The same holds true with other dinosaurs. The 'cuteness factor' came as a bit of a surprise to him and other paleontologists.
I wish I knew what issue this was in, but I'm not looking through 500 back issues for it, sorry.

Ah you you just haven't saw the ugly one have you. Go to the new born word sometimes. There are baby's so God awful ugly in there that their daddy's don't even want to claim them. The nurse tries to point out his baby to the Daddy. No no no that's not mine there's been a mistake. Of course after about a week they lose their wrinkles and they are darlings. S/He made them absolutely adorable so we would take care of them! Actually they look so cute because they're still innocent and uncorrupted by this world. They haven't learned how to hate or destroy yet.

That is easy my friend. He had to make them cute so you would not get mad when they wake you up for 3 weeks in a row everynight with colic. Or when you have just changed one too many poopy diaper. I adore my son. I did it all by myself and I would not change a minute of it.

Cuteness is a natural self defense mechanism. Problem is is only works on creatures who don't think cute and helpless is a dinner entree.

I believe babies are cute because it helps bond parents to their young so that they feel the urge to care for them.
