Bowl of vinegar works.
Also you can put frangrant scraps, ie orange and lemons peels, apple core, cinammon, vanilla, little water, in a pan and "cook"; I also do this in a bowl in the microwave to make the microwave smell good - some of the aroma leaks out into the kitchen. It smells like you're baking a pie and the smell wafts through to other rooms.

Well, I wouldn't reccomend air fresheners because sometimes they just mix with the odors and cause it to smell even worse. SOMETIMES. But I have heard that you cut up a lemon and boil it on the stove and the scent should take the odor away. Also perhaps you could clean the stove with a little bit of fresh lemon juice. I've never tried this so I'm not sure if it works but if you really want to get rid of the odor then I guess anything is worth trying. Let me know how this works. I hope I could help.

Strange that a strong smell like vinegar would eliminate odors altogether, but it will. The vinegar smell disappears after awhile and leaves nothing behind.
Air freshener, used with baking soda - use 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon vinegar and 2 cups of water. After it stops foaming, mix well, and use in a (recycled) spray bottle into the air.

There are special candles you can buy that eliminate odors as well as newer air freshener sprays that eliminate rather than mask odors. Several are almost scentless. Check out your local Target.
You could also buy a small air purifier and keep it on the kitchen counter.

Air out the room by opening the windows and doors. A fan moving the air might help. Also there are a lot of products that are supposed to kill odours not just cover them, eg. Oust. Vinegar apparently helps as well.
