the first sound of a word begining with a consonant is put @ the end, followin an '-ay'
ex. love-> ovelay
if the word starts w/ a vowel, you move the first sound to the back again, and add on an 'uhyay'
ex. i->i-uh-yay(sounded out)
ex2. you->ou-yuh-yay(sounded out)

Best way to understand Pig latin is to practice speaking it. You will get real fluent with it in a short amount of time. They are right taking the first letter of every word adding it to the end and adding "ay". Like the example already used: LOVE becomes "ovelay". Eway llaay ovelay igpay atinlay. (we all love pig latin). My sister and I still use this to talk in front of her kids when we don't want them to know what we are saying :-)
