I have a doxie too. Mine has done the exact same thing...dark chocolate is what you need to worry about most when it comes to chocolate....at the moment the best thing to do would be to call the veterinary hospital or the vet and ask their oppinion. Take care of that little rascal...;)

That depends on the size of your dog and the amount of chocolate and also what kind. The smaller the dog the more to worry about. Also, dark chocolate is more harmful than milk. Keep a close eye on your dog. You can feed your dog Pepto Bismol to help with its upset tummy but you may want to call your vet to be instructed on the dose. If you're worried enough you can always make an appointment with your vet just to be safe.

We all know chocolate is not for dogs, but a few pieces should not be that big of a problem. Is she a small or large dog. Her weight could make a difference. Besides throwing up she could also have loose stools. Just watch her and put up the candy dish.

Keep a close eye on him, if he seems to be acting weird then dont hesitate to take him to the vet. Chocolate is not good at all for dogs especially small dogs. I have two doxies myself and when they eat more than their share of anything they shouldnt I just make sure their ok,give them plenty of water to flush out their system. Somtimes you can just wait it out and he'll poop it all out,but he should be ok. My kids have given our dogs M&M's along with chocolate cupcakes with choco icing and they were fine just a little extra diarheaa than I wanted, but oh well. Hope this helps.

Call your vet before taking him to the vet. Ask what he/she would do. You should do that before asking "Yahoo" because your dogs life is in your hands. I am not a vet... so call YOURS!!! Chocolate is dangerous to dogs but my dog somehow got a container of snowcaps and a hersheys bar and was okay. It depends on the dog. I think and hope that your Doxie's okay.

Actually to save you money why don't you mix a little bit of mustard with some water it will make the dog throw up what it just ate. This can also be helped with ipecac.

Take your dog to the pet hospital immediately! That is nothing to wait on, your dog could die especially eating such a large amount of chocolate.

first thing is first, call the vet- it is a free call to call them, then explain to the vet what happenned!

Also, depending on what the vet tells you to do, watch your dog!

Next time, keep the chocolate out of reach, out of mind!
Dogs eat anything and everything that is not tyed down
