Go ahead you can try asking her out. But dont just ask her out of the blue. Talk to her a bit when she takes your order and stuff. Give her a compliment too. Then ask her out.

~Good Luck!

As a waitress and bartender, I'm always shocked how many men misinterpret professional courtesy for genuine interest. Just a note, if she is good looking, she gets asked out at work all the time. (It never really gets less awkward.)

Remember, it's her job to be friendly and helpful to customers. You may think she's checking you out, but then again, another part of her job is to subtly check on her tables to make sure the customer is alright.

Unless you've had REAL conversations with her besides the daily specials, really, just be a nice customer, tip her, and be on your way.

My first question is if you are 38 but look 30, how do you know she isn't older than SHE appears?

Either way, I firmly believe age is just a number and you don't lose anything by giving it a shot.

She may be just being friendly. That's part of her job as a waitress. What matters is if she gives you a second and third glance.

That's her professional waitress smile. Just eat, tip well and leave. They smile at me too and I know they're not hot for me.

i assume you've seen her before. she might be bucking for a tip, considering the circumstances. however, look at it from a biological perspective. you, prospective mate. how are you interacting with others? like an underling or as someone with authority.

You can ask, but don't expect much. Sounds like she's flirting for a tip.

Ask her out, she works hard for the money and also tip her good.

Try just talking to her. Maybe she's interested, maybe she was just looking for a large tip.
